The Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse Ordinance will commence on 20 January 2026, launching the Guide for Mandated Reporters for the social welfare sector to identify and intervene in serious child abuse cases early, which ensures child safety.
Service Head of the Children and Family Support Services at the Methodist Centre, Mr. Lo Chun Wing was invited to share insights about the new guidelines on RTHK's《自由風自由PHONE》on 25 July 2025. The guide covers various scenarios and handling processes, providing frontline workers with specific instructions to help them handle suspected cases more accurately.
We hope this ordinance will strengthen the protective network, helping every child to grow up healthy. We also committed to safeguarding children's rights and well-being by providing professional support services and child protection work.
